ANNAPOLIS, Md.– Annapolitans and visitors won’t want to miss the three nights of late night shopping and entertainment in downtown Annapolis: Midnight Madness on Thursday, December 5 and 12, and Eleventh Hour on December 19. The town will be full of holiday music and entertainment, prizes, complimentary gift wrapping, holiday photo shoots, visits with Santa and special sale prices at select retail stores, who will each remain open until midnight for holiday shopping and festivities. (Until 11pm on the 19th)

annapolis-midnight-shopping-2 This year the ABA adds another exciting element, The WRNR Rockin’ Stocking, a grand prize worth over $2,500. Shoppers may visit participating merchants to register to win from Small Business Saturday, November 30 through Eleventh Hour on December 19. The stocking is filled with more than 45 gift cards worth at least $50 each to use for yourself or to give as gifts.

The music and entertainment line-up is bigger than ever. It includes returning favorites and many new performers.

“We are thrilled to again welcome the Old Mill High School Steel Drum Band. Under the direction of their dedicated music teacher, Mike Miller, they have performed at Midnight Madness for more than 15 years and are a very special part of this event,” Said Judy Buddensick, Midnight Madness Event Coordinator. “I’m very excited to welcome several new musical acts to the events,” Buddensick continued, “The Children’s Theater of Annapolis will join us on 2 different nights, with 2 different performances. The Priddy Music Academy and LifeSongs Community Choir also make their debut with us this year.”

Line Up for December 5: Children’s Theater of Annapolis, Pride of Baltimore Chorus, The Sons of Severn Chorus, LifeSongs Community Choir, Cousin Eddie, The Salvation Army Band, WNAV and WRNR.

FREE gift wrap services will be available at 40 West Street. The Annapolis Evening Rotary Club will wrap your gifts on December 5 and 12; Annapolis Community Boating will be there on the 19th. Donations are encouraged to their respective charities. The Rams Head Group is also offering a free gift in the same location. Show $150 in receipts from downtown shops made that evening and you will receive a free concert ticket.

Downtown will be aglow with even more beautiful holiday decorations this year thanks to Sheehy Lexus of Annapolis, our co-sponsor of the holiday decorations downtown for the 3rd year in a row. The program, which provides most of the financial support for downtown decorations, is funded by contributions from businesses and other community partners.

“We are so pleased to align ourselves with the ABA again during this holiday season. We see this as a fantastic opportunity to support all of the local businesses throughout the Annapolis community,” said Paul LaRochelle of Sheehy Lexus of Annapolis.

Sean O’Neill, ABA President said, “We appreciate the support of Sheehy Lexus of Annapolis in helping us continue this ABA tradition. We want to draw residents and visitors downtown to enjoy the unique festive atmosphere of downtown Annapolis during the holiday season. We doubled our decorating budget this year from last, so look for the beautiful display of lights on Church Circle and a few other surprises around town.”

There are plenty of parking options downtown to attend the events. The metered spaces are free for two hours (from Thanksgiving through New Year’s), and the Circulator Trolley picks up near all the city’s parking garages and throughout downtown to provide free shuttle rides; shoppers can hit every shop in town.
